Stop using the news to victimize yourself

Stop using the news to victimize yourself

"Anyone else have PTSD from Facebook lately?"

That's what one of my good friends posted lately.

Now, I know him to sometimes thrive on complaining, and I've called him out on it before, so he's no stranger to getting schooled in the Art of NGF.

So when I saw that post of his, I starred it and watched for responses.

After 15 or so folks all commiserated in tearful agreement, I went in for the kill:

"100% self-inflicted. Stop now."

No one could disagree.

My friend eventually got in touch and let me know it really hit him hard to face the fact that he'd been turning himself into a victim and not even realizing he was in charge the whole time.

Yes, it's that easy.

Now, once you get good at IGNORING all that stuff you used to use to make you feel bad, you'll get into some pretty fascinating experiences.

Like what my pro snowboarder client A. from Finland wrote about his experiences after completing part 1 of 4 of the Radical Undoing 101 Mega Course: (https://radicalundoing.com/funnels/brainchange/)

What did you learn about yourself by going through the exercises in Part 1?

"-I don’t know who I am or where I'm going. I don't have to.

-I have lot’s and lots of restrictions that stop me from doing things I want to do and telling me how I should be. Inner critic is the voice of all these restrictions and beliefs that are limiting to me. This holds back my power over my own life. Most of the time the inner critic uses the argument: ”What will others think if I do this?”

-Body and unconscious mind are strongly connected, or the same. I noticed it when I was driving and my girlfriend was pissed at me. I was also locked at her emotional state. It was hard to bring myself to do the face stretches but that got me out of that state.

-So, those restrictions/tensions can be undone through body. I don’t want to give a fuck about the restrictions and surrender to the flow of life instead.

-My fears are all lies."

What did you learn about the world around you?

-"Sometimes in the middle of the night, especially after a session, I wake up wondering who and where the hell am I? Everything feels very unreal. Maybe it is.

-Most people are very very restricted in their thoughts and actions. They can’t let loose even for purposes of having fun. Luckily there are some who can, they are the most fun people to hang around with.

-Real experience is very much different from the models of reality in mind."

How will you use this knowledge practically in the future to improve your life?

"-I’ll let go of my fears and inner critics arguments. Whenever theres discomfort, I’ll try to get in the not giving a fuck state of mind and do it. There’s nothing to lose.

-As I’ve seen what the practice of undoing has taught me, I want to go deeper. Now that I’m writing the capstone for the first part, I can’t wait to take on the next adventures on part 2! I'll do the part 2 without pauses so there's more momentum.

-Seeing the process i’m going through gives a lot of motivation now as I’m writing this capstone. I’ll start undoing journal.

-Whenever I’m distracting myself, I’ll stop, do some undoing and feel what I really want to do.

-Fire! taught me how it would feel to lose most of my stuff. I would do fine without most of my stuff so I’m cleaning my house. There are some quality things I’ve bought or gotten years back, that are cool with times unique touch in them."

Are there any experiences or stories you'd like to share about a particular exercise?

Love in an elevator was very scary at first. I put it off a couple of days before doing it, and then when I was passing by Helsinki city center, I just decided to go for it. It was hard to get the talking started for the first time but then it started flowing. Had couple of really good conversations that I would’ve liked to continue.

There was also two times when I asked someone something and they ignored me totally even after I said ”hello, i’m talking to you”. It was very awkward to them but for me it was really hard not to laugh. How socially restricted can some people be..

I also felt lot’s of tension and warmth in my face when doing it. Felt very relieved after and i’ve used to talk to people in elevator rides since.

I did a little variation of this with my friend. We were doing a prank video with bluetooth speaker, and we put it in the backpack. We meant to go to sit next to a person in a park and film how they reacted to fart sounds.

The video thing didn’t work out, but then we went around playing with it just for fun. We went to the same elevator full of people, I had the bag and my friend was pressing fart sounds from time to time. I’ve never seen so awkward faces. Haven't felt embarrassed since."

Hey there. This is Garrett again, in case you got lost in that amazing review of A's experience with Undoing 101.

The cool thing is that the course comes inside a private forum, where you can share your own experiences (if you want) and read about other people's experiences, like A's.

Turn off the fake news, tune into the real news (all around you!), and kiss those fake-ass fears to the curb with a HUGE dose of fun and psychedelic brain change (withoutthe substances!): https://radicalundoing.com/funnels/brainchange/

Enjoy,

-Garrett
